Please note that a Disco party requires a deposit of £100 in addition to the fee to cover the professional cleaning of the dance floor if drinks have been spilt on it.
The ‘locals’ price is available to residents of the following parishes: Umberleigh; Athrington; High Bickington and Chittlehampton.
The Hall Heaters are operated by coin meters in addition to the above charges. See detail on Booking Form
If access is needed outside the hire period (for deliveries/decorating/food preparation/cleaning up etc.) this must be arranged when making the booking and may incur an additional charge.
A “NO DAMAGE AND GOOD ORDER DEPOSIT” of £100 apply to some bookings (This separate to the hire charge).
Bar facilities are provided by Mark Jones, The Bell Inn, Chittlehampton and hirers are required to contact him regarding the bar arrangements (tel 01769 540368). This is a legal requirement. If you require a different bar provider this must be arranged at the time of booking and The Bell notified. This different bar provider must apply for a temporary license for the event and provide the booking secretary with a copy of the licence when confirming the booking. This also is a legal requirement.
Booking forms are available from Geoff Shallcross or by downloading. Bookings are made by completing the Booking Form and presenting it along with the required deposit to Geoff Shallcross, Old Tollgate, Dorridge Hill, Umberleigh EX37 9AD – Tel: 01796 540644 – Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The completed booking form may be emailed back to Geoff Shallcross but must be confirmed by telephone in order to make the payment arrangements and key collection.
There is no WiFi at the hall, however there is a good 4G mobile signal with EE.

Terms & Conditions of Hire
The Hirer should appoint a responsible person for the event. That person should familiarise themselves with the layout of the hall, Health & Safety and Fire Policy/Procedures.
During the period of hire the hirer is responsible for the care and safety of the hall, all its contents and fittings and the behaviour of all persons using the hall.
The Management Committee reserves the right to attend any event to ensure these conditions are being observed.
Fireworks or smoke machines are not permitted.
Damage and Accidents
The hirer must report any damage or any accidents that happen to the Management Committee. The hirer must enter any accidents into the Accidents Book which is kept in the Village Hall.
Health and Safety and Hygiene
The hirer should familiarise themselves with the Health and Safety Notices which are in the folder in the kitchen.
The hirer must have a mobile phone available at the event.
The hirer shall comply with all the conditions made in respect of the premises by the Fire Authority, Local Authority and local Magistrates Court. The Premises Licence conditions are in the folder in the kitchen.
If food is being prepared and served all relevant food, health and hygiene conditions must be observed.
Use of Premises
The hirer shall not use the premises for any purpose other than that described in the Hiring Agreement.
The hirer shall ensure that any activities for children are supervised at all time and in compliance with local legislation.
End of Hire
The hirer is responsible for leaving the premises and surrounding area in a clean and tidy condition, all electrical appliances switched off and the building properly locked up.
